The cool, continental climate contributes to a slow ripening, allowing for the development of complex tannins and great range of the aroma and flavour. The retention of natural acids is a feature of wines from this region, lending a natural brightness and an effortless balance.  Well-drained gravelly brown clay-loam soils also contribute to fruit concentration and definition, as well as the earthy complexity that this region is renowned for. 

Harvested from a single vineyard at Great Western planted with Best’s old clone, this wine showcases lifted red cherry and raspberry fruits, with notes of black pepper and complex spice. Cool climate elegance and purity delivered with plush, silky texture. Enjoy now, or cellar for the next 20 years.
